Shiseido Perfect Mascara Sample size Shiseido Perfect Mascara brush
After using Shiseido’s Perfect Mascara for a week, this is what I've noticed. It’s amazing when it comes to the smudge proof formula. Unlike a lot of other mascara that promised to be smudge proof, this one has been one of the best. It did not transfer to my bottom lid and even from wearing it 11-12hours straight with no touch ups. From what I experienced this Perfect Mascara it took even longer thanMajolica’s Lash Expander Frame Plus for it to smudge than.

On the down side, this Perfect Mascara weights down my lashes. My lashes ended up pretty straight not long after using it. So it didn’t keep my curled lashes up, although I don’t know if heated lash curlers would improve this aspect.

It coats my lashes well making them appear stand out and black. It did lengthen my lashes but only a short amount. I touched the extended part when it was touch dry, it was soft and bent in a unnatural L shape from the pressure of my finger tips. It seemed quite waterproof, did not smudge even when my eyes got watery from yawning. It is indeed very easy to remove. Comes right off with a hand wipes with warm water, came off with cold water too but warm is more comfortable for the eyes. So I'm guessing provided you don't go rubbing at it, or drench water over it, it should stay on.

Overall, I loved the smudge proof factor of Shiseido’s Perfect Mascara. It's very convenient to use and remove compared to Majolica’s Frame Plus, which is notorious for being a pain to remove. I still prefer Majolica’s Lash Expander Frame Plus because it keeps my lashes up and curled. This Perfect Mascara left my lashes straight and mainly visible viewing only from the side. I did not find it to be very lengthening; maybe for someone with shorter lashes the difference would be better.

Shiseido’s Perfect Mascara would be perfect for someone who has naturally long curled lashes. My lashes are considered long however because I have heavy lids, half of my lashes are hidden when my eyes are opened. At the same time it forces my lashes downwards. So using mascaras that lifts my lashes for me is very important. I do like it. Even though some areas do need improvements, the ease of removing it and the smudge proof formula is very alluring. Perfect for long days out and travel, when you're not as fussy about visible lashes front on.

Here’s swatches of two of them, Like Mink and Be Mine from sample shadows. (Be Mine’s not listed on the US or AU website anymore, so I dunno if it’s still available, it must be really old...)
Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo
Like Mink (Above), Be Mine (below)

The highlight shadow is sheerer with a light satin appearance. It’s layerable without looking powdery.
The darker shade is more matt with small glitters. The colour’s more muted, layerable but does not intensify the colour much. Colour glides on and bends easily.

Love Package + Random note

LovePackage from Jamilla
My package from Jamilla came in yesterday! Yay!! =D This is her blog http://www.makeupforprofessionalasianwomen.com/. The package came within a week, so it was really fast!
She is such a sweet generous lady, I only won the second prize which was the Longchamp bag, but she put in extras! <3 (I actually like it more than the 1st prize, this is more my style =P )
There was a pair of gorgeous round white pearl earrings and 2 of MAC’s eyeliners.
EarringsPerfect timing because I was just thinking about getting a new black or brown eyeliner =D and now Jamilla’s sent both colours!! WOW <3 Save me from trying to decide which colour and brand, trust me I been thinking for awhile. Why don't I just get both? o.o I dunno...
So there was the Eye Kohl Eyeliner in Teddy and the Pearl glide Eyeliner in Black Russian.
Maybe I’ll swatch them later, they’re so pretty I don’t want to use them now. >.<

Other than that, I’ve been having problems with my internet at home. It’s super slow and I've been tired during the week. So I might not be able to post as often. I’ll do my best to do at least 2 posts a week, hopefully more than 1.

I was using mineral foundation before but because the coverage wasn’t as good, I decided to go back to liquid. Maybe I’ll use mineral again during summer. =P Anyway I was gonna try Shiseido’s liquid foundation but it didn’t give me a very good coverage and my skin isn’t exactly flawless D= . So I ended up with Clinique’s Superbalanced makeup liquid foundation. The problem is, as I had mentioned earlier something is making me break out, not really badly but still. Before I was suspecting it to be the lotion sample I was trying out which I stopped using straight away. Now it’s either this new foundation, or the sunscreen, or a combination of it all. =/
I've been wanting to do a review on the 3 different mineral foundation I have at home, but never got around to it. Not new releases so nothing too exciting. hahaha

(Above information taken from: http://www.esteelauder.com.au)

Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Eyeshadow comes in a huge range of colours, here's swatches of 3. They are pretty good quality if you ask me, there's a good range of colours and it blends well too. I don't wear eye shadows much so can't give you all the full details of it...

13. Pale Moon:
The shadow comes in a beautiful lilac colour and silky/pearl shine. The colour’s very sheer and low in pigmentation. I had to really work it to get a good colour on my hand for the photos and even then it’s very pale. The shimmer’s quiet nice, very fine and not too much however I noticed the shimmers smudging all over my hand not long after the application. Removes easily with tap water.

16. Eggplant:
In a greyish deep purple, it is matt and has good pigmentation. It’s slightly powdery and the colours seem to sink into the lines of your skin. It’s easy to apply although uneven, the colour looks more grey when alone without being juxtaposed to black. Removes with tap water.

25. Onyx:
A non-shimmery matt shadow in black. Towards the powdery side and glides on the skin easily. Comes off with tap water although need more working at and rubbing to take it off.

The Face Shop’s Natural Sunscreen Cream SPF38 PA++, for some reason I don’t see it on their official sites anymore so I’m not sure what it looks like other than in this sample packet. It is a Non-oily white cream sunscreen that is quite easy to spread and has a low floral fragrance. Also a small amount covers a good area, so there's actually a lot in 1 packet. Like most sunscreens it leaves a thin white layer on your face however it appears transparent once absorbed.

When it’s fresh on your face, it is slightly sticky to touch, once absorbed it is dry, non sticky and leaves a velvet feel. You don’t feel it on your face and does not weight skin down or make you make your skin look oily/shiny.

I personally feel it's nice for the fact that it’s non sticky and don’t feel it on my skin. Am slightly unsure about all those ingredients... so far I have not noticed it clogging my pores or causing break outs yet. Although I can't be sure yet because it's sample packets and I've only used it a few times. I can’ tell if it’s waterproof or long-lasting though.

If anyone knows more about it, do let me know. =3

Review: Bio-Oil

Another review on one of my HG products, Bio-oil! I absolutely love this product even though it does make my skin slightly shiny, but the results I got from it was great! So again starting with the product information on the bottle.

Do not use on broken skin.
In the unlikely event of skin irritation, discontinue use.

---

Bio-Oil comes in a simple plastic bottle, like Toners so be careful not to pour too much out. It’s a orange clear liquid oil with a light fragrance, comes out clear and oily to the touch.. From when I bought it, I’ve been using this on my face consistently alone without other moisturisers for about 5months, twice a day as recommended on the bottle. Lately I’ve been trying other things but yea...
Anyway it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin looking moisturised, feel soft and smooth but does makes your skin appear shiny. You only need a small amount, if you use too much you’ll find your skin feeling greasy and very shiny. I find the best way is to put some on your hands and pat it to your face then spreading it. You can use any excess on your arms or legs so none is wasted =P.

It’s greatly improved my scars and other blemishes, and I’m pretty prone to scarring so that’s really helpful. It’s also evened out my complexion because my skin use to be really patchy with red marks particularly on my cheeks. Now it’s a lot more even, less red and my skin appears smooth and toned.

It also hydrates my skin very well. My cheeks in particular get very dry, I’ve tried other moisturisers for combination skin either it doesn’t hydrate enough leaving my skin dry, stretchy, and peeling. Or I start breaking out, but so far I have not had any break outs or problems from using Bio-oil and my skin doesn’t peel. Even though it leaves a slight shine on my face the benefits outweigh it be far. Something I’ve experienced is that you do need something over it like a different hydrating moisturiser if you are using foundation that dries your skin. Even though you shouldn’t be using foundation that dries out your skin in the first place but if you do, you’ll need something more that locks in the moisture in your skin.

Overall, I would highly recommend it. It comes in 3 sizes: 60mL, 125mL and 200mL. I’ve read other reviews and some people love it while others don’t, but from my experience it’s been great. If you’re unsure about it you could always get the smallest 60mL to try. I haven’t personally tried Bio-Oil on stretch marks yet though =P
